As anyone will tell you, working out while pregnant is great for your health as well as the health of your baby! Research has shown that working out during pregnancy decreases your risk factors of health problems and also decreases the length of your labor!
Here is a great article that focuses on the myths and facts associated with working out during pregnancy: http://www.m.webmd.com/baby/features/exercise-during-pregnancy-myth-vs-fact
Personally I chose not to workout during my first two pregnancies (2013 & 2014). I took the approach that "this is my free pass to eat whatever I want" after all, you are eating for two right!? Wrong!! I gained tons of weight, was tired, depressed, anxious, had high blood pressure and both pregnancies ended in early induction!
Post-Pardum was just as bad, I was riddled with depression and anxiety. I was angry with myself with what I had done and how far gone I was. I was actually addicted to the fat, sugar and caffeine in my diet! Going even a day without any of the junk would give me terrible headaches!
During my third pregnancy (2015) I knew something needed to change! I hit my own personal rock bottom and I had to dig myself out! I was blessed to have friended a wonderful lady on Facebook who shared her Fitness and Nutrition journey daily! She had previously invited me to join her in a Fitness Challenge Group and I had declined due to the pregnancy. I messaged her and jumped in with both feet! I took a step of faith in myself because I knew I was worth it!! I knew I needed to be better for myself and my family and we couldn't keep going the way we were!
At 27 weeks pregnant I lost 8 lbs and 5 inches doing the 21 Day Fix! I felt better drinking Shakeology and had more energy than I did when I was drinking 30 - 60 oz of Soda/Coffee a day! My depression was gone in a matter of 5 days! My anxiety attacks decreases from twice a day to less than once a week! My life was changed! I knew this was for me! I knew I wanted to share my story with the world and help other people feel as amazing as I did!
My 3rd pregnancy was surprisingly the best after I took control of my life and my health. It's not too late! You don't have to wait until AFTER your pregnancy to start working on your health and fitness goals!
